A stepney bolt (also called a spare-tire bolt) is the special bolt used to secure the spare tyre (stepney) to your vehicle’s spare tyre carrier or mount.
It holds the spare wheel firmly in place so it doesn’t move or fall off while driving — especially important for commercial vehicles like the Maruti Carry / Super Carry.

A spare tyre itself is an additional wheel and tyre carried in the vehicle for use in emergencies when one of your main tyres gets punctured or damaged.
